Business advisors make the difference.
You’re working hard to stabilize your business and adapt to rapid changes. Don’t go at it alone—Business Advisors can support you by checking in, sharing their perspectives, brainstorming strategies, providing emotional support, identifying resources, and more.
We have volunteer business advisors with a wide variety of expertise across many industries and can match you to someone with experience relating to your unique challenges.
Business Advising – How it Works
Energize Colorado offers two ways for you to get support in the way that works best for you and your situation.
Work with a Business Advisor
There is an extensive pool of volunteer business advisors available with a wide variety of experience across numerous industries, and can match you to someone with experience relating to your unique business challenge.
How it works
When you complete the form to find a business advisor, you’ll be asked a few questions about your business and what you’re looking for. We’ll send you a list of 20 volunteers who match your specific needs and challenges, and you’ll choose 3-5 you’d like to speak with. If they’re available, you’ll have the chance to learn more about them and we’ll connect you via email. You’ll be able to have some 15-30 minute phone calls to help you decide if it’s a fit, and can let us know if you’d like to move forward with mentorship. If the Mentor would like to move forward too, it’s a match!
You can decide to end your involvement at any time. All we ask is that you follow our Code of Conduct so we can create a vibrant and thriving community.
Tips for a successful business advising experience:
- Be open to learning and growth, and set professional goals to help focus the process
- Your mentor is there for guidance and expertise, but ultimately your decisions are yours to make
- Be sensitive to each other’s time—work together to set meeting times and methods that work for both of you, and be punctual and prepared
- It’s alright to end your relationship in a positive way when you’re ready to move on
