Mentorship

You’re working hard to stabilize your business and adapt to rapid changes. Don’t go it alone—Mentors can support you by checking in, sharing their perspective, brainstorming strategy, providing emotional support, identifying resources, and more.

We have volunteer Mentors with a wide variety of experience across many industries, and can match you to someone with experience relating to your unique challenges.

How it works

When you complete the form to find a Mentor, you’ll be asked a few questions about your business and what you’re looking for. We’ll send you a list of 20 volunteers who match your specific needs and challenges, and you’ll choose 3-5 you’d like to speak with. If they’re available, you’ll have the chance to learn more about them and we’ll connect you via email. You’ll be able to have some 15-30 minute phone calls to help you decide if it’s a fit, and can let us know if you’d like to move forward with mentorship. If the Mentor would like to move forward too, it’s a match!

You can decide to end your involvement at any time. All we ask is that you follow our Code of Conduct so we can create a vibrant and thriving community.

Tips for a successful Mentee-Mentor experience:

  • Be open to learning and growth, and set professional goals to help focus the process
  • Your Mentor is there for guidance and expertise, but ultimately your decisions are yours to make
  • Be sensitive to each other's time—work together to set meeting times and methods that work for both of you, and be punctual and prepared
  • It’s alright to end your relationship in a positive way when  you’re ready to move on

Submit your questions to volunteer experts

We have volunteer experts standing by to answer questions about managing your small business or nonprofit during COVID-19. Let us know your questions, we’ll ask a pool of people matched to your specific needs, and then send answers to your inbox 48 hours later. If needed, we can help arrange a follow-up email or phone conversation.

How it works

When you complete the form to submit your questions, you’ll be asked a few questions about your business to help us find the right experts.

We’ll send your questions out to the volunteers best matched to your business and your questions, and they’ll have 48 hours to respond if they’re available. We’ll send the answers to your inbox!

If you’d like clarification or have a follow-up question, we’ll connect you with the volunteer to chat further over email or phone if they’re available.

All we ask is that you follow our Code of Conduct so we can create a vibrant and thriving community.
